December 2017 Client Updates

Exciting Product Updates: M&A is continually working on developing new products and partnerships for our clients.

See what’s in store for 2018:

Life Insurance

M&A works with three primary life and accidental death insurance carriers: New York Life, MetLife, and AIG.  AIG recently decided to exit the association marketplace, so we have arranged to have all insureds covered by AIG transferred to New York Life as of February 1, 2018.  Insureds have been informed and need not do anything, as the transfer is automatic.  If you or others have any questions, please let us know.

Small Business Insurance

Our Group Benefits solution leverages technology to streamline benefits management for both employers and employees.  We’ve partnered with The Better Benefits Group to offer a selection of plans, employee enrollment, and ongoing administration.  An online platform allows both employers and employees to designate and manage contributions and enrollments in medical, ancillary, and voluntary plans – all in one place. Plans are currently available in FL, NJ, NY, PA, MD, and VA, with more states coming soon. If you are interested in promoting this with select segments of your population, let’s talk.

Identity Theft Coverage

We’ll soon be offering discounted identity protection services through the largest provider of identity protection products and data breach services to both the federal government and U.S. healthcare industry, covering more than 25 million individuals. This coverage includes alert-based identity monitoring, concierge-style identity recovery services, and lost funds reimbursement. An easy-to-use app gives prompt access to alerts and a direct connection to the team for unlimited questions and help with identity theft concerns.  This new service will be available online first quarter.

Dental Coverage

MetLife TakeAlong Dental insurance provides benefits for an array of preventive and diagnostic dental services, at costs that are significantly lower than typical dental fees.  Two valuable program options are available: PPO and Dental HMO/Managed Care. Both programs offer coverage that helps alleviate out-of-pocket costs for routine dental and orthodontic services from a strong national network of dentists.  Online enrollment will be available early next year.

Health Insurance

The health insurance landscape is in considerable flux, and it likely will be for the foreseeable future.  Last year’s fears about upcoming changes to the ACA combined with this year’s compressed Open Enrollment Period (45 days instead of 3 months) have rendered providing good service to alumni nearly impossible.  We have advocated for alumni in need of assistance and escalated where possible, but will likely bow out of this offering in the future, as state restrictions and other factors out of our control have left alumni (and us) disappointed that we couldn’t do more.
